Sara is a clinical intern. She is in the process of completing her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Cloud State University and will graduate in May 2023. She received her undergraduate degree from Concordia College-Moorhead in Spanish and Psychology, with a research background in romantic relationships. She has a passion and love for partnering with Christ throughout the therapeutic process, as she knows he is the ultimate Healer.
Sara recognizes the value in having someone to walk beside as the other person is going through the healing process, and she hopes to be able to provide that comforting, encouraging space for her clients. She practices from a Christian worldview and believes in the sanctity of every human being. She is excited to encourage clients to make their faith their own as a part of the healing process.
Sara is eager to work with clients from a wide variety of backgrounds. She is interested in counseling children ages 6-17, especially teenagers, as well as families, couples, and individuals facing a wide variety of issues. Her areas of interest include working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and working with foster care/adoptive families and kids. Sara has extensive experience working with survivors of domestic abuse, including the children impacted by this trauma. She primarily utilizes a Systems Theory therapeutic approach.
In Sara’s free time, she likes to spend time with friends and family, be outdoors in nature, cook, play guitar, exercise, and watch the Minnesota Wild.
Sara sees clients on Mondays and Tuesdays at the Elk River Office. Please call our office at 763-633-5111 to schedule an appointment.
