Christina Lorentzson

Christina is a psychotherapist in the process of completing licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor for the state of MN. She has received a master’s degree in Counseling from Crown College, a master’s degree in Social Work from Stockholm University in Sweden and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Biblical Studies from North Central University in MN.

Christina has been engaged in ministry, church planting and Bible schools around the world for over 20 years. She has lived in several countries, is married to a Swede, has dual citizenship and speaks Swedish, which gives her a unique multicultural perspective. She enjoys working with adults and couples, both men and women, who have a multicultural background, grew up as missionary kids or pastor’s kids or those currently in ministry as she knows the pressures and challenges that come with ministry, identity, and third cultures.

In counseling, Christina meets people where they are at, without judgment, in the midst of their challenges, whether it is anxiety, depression, panic, stress, trauma (PTSD), grief, low self-esteem, self-criticism, anger, self-harm, suicidality, faith struggles, identity struggles, relationship issues or life transitions.

Christina uses a variety of therapeutic approaches while working with clients, including Emotion Focused Therapy, Focusing, Person-centered, Mindfulness, Strengths-based, Process-based and Gestalt therapy. Christina views well-being from a holistic perspective—mental, emotional, physical and spiritual—and believes including each aspect into therapy enhances the healing process. Christina believes each person is unique and tailors her approach to each individual’s wishes and needs.

Christina believes the foundation for successful therapy is a strong therapeutic relationship where the client feels safe, seen and heard and she works to develop this connection with each client. Christina sees the counseling process as a collaboration working together with the client and considers it a privilege to share in the healing journey with each of her clients.

In Christina’s free time, she enjoys going on adventures with her husband and 3 children, whether paddle boarding at the beach, hiking in nature, trying new foods, or exploring new places. Christina sees clients only via telehealth Sunday-Thursday evenings.
