Julie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). She received her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary’s University. Julie’s interest in and work with people has been important to her throughout her careers as a pharmacist, spiritual director, and professional photographer. Julie is passionate about helping people feel healthy in all areas of their lives: emotional, relational, physical, and spiritual. Her perspective is that people heal best in community. While isolation keeps people stuck in shame, being met with an empathetic and non-judgmental presence encourages healing. She enjoys working with adult individuals, couples, and families.
Julie draws from a variety of therapeutic approaches, personalized to what the client needs. Julie uses EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) to help couples connect emotionally and increase their sense of safety with each other as they identify and change long-standing patterns. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich for use in premarital counseling. She has special interest in helping people work through family of origin concerns, codependency, trauma, and life transitions. She draws from research on how the nervous system stores trauma in the body in her work with clients.
Julie enjoys a wide variety of interests, but outdoor activities like snowshoeing, camping, long walks, and biking are some of her favorites. She has been involved in church leadership in multiple roles over the years and especially enjoys mentoring young women. Julie loves to spend time with her family and friends
Julie sees clients on Monday through Thursday. She accepts all major insurance plans. Please call our office to ask about your specific insurance coverage.
