Wendy has had the opportunity to see a variety of clients with an assortment of issues including trauma, sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, boundary struggles, and more.  She has specialized training in trauma counseling and utilizes EMDR which is a powerful tool to promote healing. (See the EMDR page under services for more information on this topic).  Her passion is working with clients who have been through severe trauma (including sexual abuse, sex trafficking, ritual abuse, and other forms of extreme trauma), that have developed CPTSD, PTSD, Dissociative Identity Disorder, and other related struggles.

Wendy uses an integrative therapeutic approach from a variety of theoretical models including Attachment Theory, Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral, and alternative therapies (including art therapy and faith-based techniques [prayer]). The interventions and techniques she uses are tailored to the individual’s specific needs in order to aid the clients in reaching their goals for therapy. She believes in a holistic approach including physical, emotional, and spiritual healing for the whole person. As a committed believer and follower of Jesus, she understands the importance of a healthy spiritual life. This in mind, she welcomes clients to incorporate their faith within the therapeutic setting.

Wendy enjoys a variety of activities to enrich her personal life as well.  She enjoys spending time with her husband and children, using creativity for expression, and being outdoors, taking care of her chickens, dogs, and cats, and enjoying God’s beautiful creation.
