Mountains and Valleys

Life is full of ups and downs, twists and unexpected turns. One way to cope with these changes is to draw the mountains and valleys. The mountains are the happy moments in life or things you are grateful for. The valleys are the low points in life, moments of sadness, grief, anxiety, or challenging emotions. Then reflect on where you are currently, and what steps you need to take to make it to the top of the mountain. Remember that the valleys are temporary, and you will not stay there forever.

In the bible, mountains often represent glory, strength, and divine encounter, while valleys are often low points or trials. Psalm 23:4 says, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me”. This is a great reminder that even in the darkest moments, God is still with us.
